Andy Serkis is an actor who is famous for playing many roles including Gollum, Supreme Leader Snoke, and of course Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther. The most important topic to cover in the many characters that he has played is his beard styles.
His facial hair has really brought out some of the characters that he played in certain movies. His role in Black Panther as an international criminal and arms dealer was enhanced by his rugged looking beard and hairstyle. His thick salt and pepper beard helped to define him as an experienced arms dealer with connections.
Let’s take a look at the Andy Serkis beard.
Andy Serkis Black Panther Beard
Serkis’ beard in Black Panther helped to portray him as a criminal mastermind and arms dealer. No, a beard alone won’t do that, but with his superb acting skills, his wardrobe, tattoos and hairstyle, his overall look as a badass was certainly improved by his rugged beard.
The beard style used in Black Panther by Marvel is a full beard with no mustache. There is no neck beard for his character as it appears to be shaved above his adam’s apple like a standard one. His sideburns are straight and thick, and they run up to his ear line on his head.
What makes this beard stand out is the shaved down part of his head where his sideburns meet. In addition to the shaved part, he has a head tattoo.
Another aspect of his hair style is his hairline has a forward spike of hair on each side. This provides symmetry to his face and beard.
The beard for Ulysses Klaue is an important part of the character that Andy Serkis plays. Well, it is to us at Beardedblade. Can you imagine Andy playing this character with no stubble or facial hair, a different hairstyle and no head tattoo that can be seen.
His Everyday Beard
Andy Serkis has worn a variety of different beard styles over the years. Sometimes his facial hair is heavy stubble, sometimes he has a goatee, and he also keeps his beard similar to some of the characters that he has played as well.
Here is Andy’s everyday facial hair style. It is no more than a traditional beard.
This facial hair style is more of a Van Dyke beard due to the fact that the beard doesn’t fully connect to his goatee.
Summary
There are many celebrity beard and hair styles that have worked their way into pop culture. If you are fan of the comic world, you may also be a fan of Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman. The Wolverine facial hair style is amazing, and we feel it is one of the best pop culture beards out there. Of course, the beard that Andy had in Black Panther was amazing, it is not quite as iconic as Hugh Jackman’s.
While his face was covered in hair when he played Caesar in Planet Of The Apes, we didn’t feel the need to cover it here as it really was not a beard.
